ABOUT ME
Mallie Easterlin, LMFT
One of our deepest desires as humans is to be and feel connected to another person.
We long to be in relationship with other people. But people and relationships can be one of our biggest fears and a deep source of pain. To be in relationship we must be vulnerable (terrifying!) and allow ourselves to be seen (no thanks!). So often life teaches us to hide or shrink or be quiet. We end up feeling like we don’t belong. Our bodies become dysregulated and we become disconnected from the people we care about, who we are, and who we were created to be.
Where there is vulnerability there is always bravery.
It takes courage to let ourselves be seen- whether in our daily lives with the people we love the most or in coming to counseling for the first (or third) time.
Counseling is a chance to have someone walk with you, offering an extra set of eyes, eyes that are similar to yours but just happen to have a little more training and practice (and boundaries and ethical guidelines, too).
As we walk together, you will experience what it is like being both present with another person and with yourself. We will walk with gentleness, letting your already wise body lead the way.
